We may also collect other information you voluntarily provide to us.

2. Information We Collect From Other Sources

We may receive information about you from sources other than you.

Member Nominations and Referrals. Members may nominate, refer, or introduce other individuals to VEST. Members should only provide another person's contact information when they have a reasonable basis to believe that person would welcome being contacted by VEST.

Public Sources. We may obtain professional or publicly available information from sources such as company websites, professional directories, public social media profiles, public business records, and other publicly available sources.

Partners. We may receive information from organizations with which we collaborate, including event partners, sponsors, program partners, corporate membership sponsors, and community organizations.

Information received from partners will be handled in accordance with this Privacy Policy and, when applicable, additional terms associated with the particular program or relationship.

3. Information Collected Automatically

When you interact with our website, App, emails, or other digital Services, we and service providers acting on our behalf may automatically collect certain information.

This may include:

Device and technical information, such as IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, device or online identifiers, and general geographic location derived from an IP address.

Usage information, such as pages or screens viewed, links clicked, features used, dates and times of access, time spent using the Services, navigation paths, referring websites, and interactions with emails or communications.

We may use cookies and similar technologies as described below to collect some of this information.

4. Demographic and Sensitive Information

VEST is intentionally designed to support women from different backgrounds, identities, experiences, industries, and communities.

We may invite applicants and members to voluntarily provide demographic information, including information such as race or ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability or accessibility needs, and other demographic characteristics.

We use this information for internal purposes such as:

  • Understanding whom our community reaches.

  • Evaluating whether programs are reaching the populations they are intended to serve.

  • Identifying potential barriers to participation.

  • Improving program and community design.

  • Evaluating our equity and inclusion efforts.

  • Meeting legitimate reporting requirements.

  • Conducting research and program evaluation.

Unless we clearly state otherwise at the point of collection, providing demographic information is voluntary.

Demographic and sensitive information is not displayed in member-facing profiles or directories unless a member separately chooses to make that information public.

When VEST reports demographic information to funders, partners, sponsors, or other stakeholders, we generally provide it only in aggregated or de-identified form and do not identify individual members unless we have an appropriate legal basis or the individual's consent.

Access to sensitive demographic information is limited internally to individuals who reasonably need it for legitimate business, program, reporting, or compliance purposes.

We do not use sensitive demographic information for targeted advertising.

We do not sell sensitive demographic information for monetary consideration.

Where applicable law requires consent or provides additional rights regarding sensitive personal information, we will process that information in accordance with those requirements.

Additional information about VEST's approach to equity and inclusion is available in the VEST Equity & Inclusion Policy.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

VEST and third parties that provide services to us may use cookies, pixels, tags, SDKs, and similar technologies in connection with our website, App, emails, and other digital Services.

These technologies may be used to:

  • Operate and secure the Services.

  • Maintain account sessions.

  • Remember preferences.

  • Understand how visitors and members use our Services.

  • Measure website and App performance.

  • Analyze engagement with communications.

  • Measure the effectiveness of marketing and outreach.

  • Prevent fraud and enhance security.

Some of these technologies may collect information about your device, browser, IP address, online activity, interactions with our Services, and interactions with advertisements or communications.

Depending on the technology and applicable law, certain uses of these technologies may be considered a "sale," "sharing," or use of personal information for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising.

Where required by law, VEST will provide appropriate notice, consent mechanisms, opt-out tools, or other privacy choices.

You may also be able to control cookies and similar technologies through your browser settings, device settings, or any privacy-preference tools we make available.

Disabling certain technologies may affect the functionality of the Services.

8. Sale, Sharing, and Targeted Advertising

VEST does not sell personal information for monetary consideration.

We may use analytics, advertising, audience measurement, and similar technologies that involve disclosures of certain online identifiers or activity information to third parties.

Under some privacy laws, certain disclosures for advertising, analytics, or cross-context behavioral advertising may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information even where no money is exchanged.

To the extent our practices constitute a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising under applicable law, eligible individuals may have the right to opt out.

Where required by law, VEST will:

  • Provide an appropriate opt-out mechanism.

  • Honor qualifying browser-based opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control.

  • Obtain consent where required.

  • Provide additional disclosures regarding the categories of information involved and the purposes of the processing.

  • VEST does not use sensitive demographic information for targeted advertising.

9. Privacy Controls and Browser Signals

You may have several ways to control online tracking and advertising technologies.

Browser and Device Settings. Most browsers allow you to block, delete, or limit cookies and similar technologies. Your device settings may also allow you to limit certain forms of tracking or advertising.

Cookie and Privacy Preference Tools. Where required or appropriate, VEST may provide a consent or preference-management tool that allows you to control certain categories of cookies, pixels, or similar technologies.

Global Privacy Control. Where required by applicable law, VEST will recognize qualifying Global Privacy Control signals as a request to opt out of certain sales or sharing of personal information.

Do Not Track. Some browsers provide a "Do Not Track" setting.

Because there is not a universally accepted standard governing how websites should respond to Do Not Track signals, our Services may not respond to those signals unless required by law.

Your privacy choices may depend on your browser, device, jurisdiction, and the particular technologies in use.

10. Your Choices

We will respond within the time required by applicable law.

14. Account and Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your VEST account or personal information by contacting info@vesther.co

Deleting an account may result in the loss of access to member features, communications, content, and other information associated with the account.

We will process valid deletion requests in accordance with applicable law.

Deletion does not necessarily mean that every record associated with an individual will immediately or permanently disappear.

We may retain information when reasonably necessary to:

  • Comply with law.

  • Maintain financial, tax, or transaction records.

  • Resolve disputes.

  • Enforce agreements.

  • Protect safety.

  • Prevent fraud or abuse.

  • Maintain appropriate records relating to significant community or policy matters.

  • Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

Information retained for these purposes will not be used for unrelated purposes.

15. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

We also seek to use service providers that maintain appropriate security safeguards for information they process on our behalf.

However, no method of transmitting or storing information is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Members are responsible for protecting their account credentials and should notify us promptly if they believe their account has been compromised.

16. Third-Party Websites and Services

Our Services may contain links to websites, platforms, apps, or services operated by third parties.

VEST does not control the privacy practices of those third parties.

When you interact directly with a third-party service, that organization's privacy policy and terms generally govern its collection and use of your information.

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of third-party services you use.

17. International Data Transfers

VEST is headquartered in the United States.

Our service providers may operate in the United States and other countries. As a result, personal information may be processed or stored in jurisdictions whose privacy laws differ from those where you live.

Where required by applicable law, we will use appropriate safeguards for international transfers of personal information.

When we update this Policy, we will revise the Last Updated date at the top.

If we make material changes, we may provide additional notice through the Services, by email, or through another reasonable method.

Where applicable law requires consent to a new use of information, we will obtain that consent rather than relying solely on an updated Privacy Policy.
