At VEST, we know it’s one thing to recognize the habits that keep us overworked and burned out and another to have a clear, practical way to change them.
We created the Workflow Reset Checklist as a simple, actionable tool to help women identify unhelpful patterns in real time and replace them with habits that protect energy, support long-term goals, and make work more sustainable.
This isn’t about pushing yourself to do more. It’s about creating a workflow that works for you, not against you.
Use this list to spot old patterns and practice healthier ones.
1. Resetting False Urgency
Wait at least 1 hour before responding to new requests (unless truly urgent).
Use a Today vs. This Week list to separate immediate needs from non-urgent work.
Keep a “False Alarm Log” to track how often waiting actually causes a problem.
2. Escaping the “Who Will Do It If Not Me?” Trap
Delegate with clarity: give context, deadlines, and resources.
Aim for 80% of your standard and release the rest—perfection is optional.
Tell family/team: “It doesn’t have to be my way—it just has to get done.”
3. Putting Self Before Productivity
Start the day with 30–45 minutes just for you. No work apps or emails.
Track your energy levels alongside task completion.
Set a default work start time (and protect it like a meeting).
Reminder: You didn’t invent these habits, you learned them in environments that rewarded overwork. You can unlearn them and build systems that work for you, not against you. Check out our VEST Her Podcast Episode on How to Break the Autopilot Cycle
